Our Commitment

District 220 Toastmasters is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1: • HTML5 • CSS3 • JavaScript (Wix Studio / Velo) These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Known Accessibility Features

This Site includes the following accessibility features: • Keyboard-navigable menus and interactive elements. • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images. • Sufficient color contrast ratios between text and backgrounds (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text). • Scalable text that responds to browser zoom settings. • ARIA labels on form fields and interactive components. • Skip-to-content navigation link. • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements. • Captions and transcripts provided for multimedia content where applicable.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some third-party embedded content (such as external event registration systems or embedded Zoom widgets) may not fully conform to all accessibility standards. We are actively working with our technology partners to address these gaps.

District 220 Toastmasters assessed the accessibility of this Site using the following approaches: • Self-evaluation during development. • Third-party accessibility audit (post-launch, within 60 days of the July 1, 2026 launch). • Ongoing monitoring and testing with assistive technologies.
